Meeting Dr. Ragnell, you’ll find a blend of expertise and genuine care that defines iSmile Dental Care in Plano, TX. His journey in dentistry began with undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University before he earned his degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1976. Dr. Ragnell furthered his training at prestigious institutions including Misch Implant Institute, the University of Southern California where he trained in anesthesia and intravenous sedation, and the United States Dental Institute for edgewise orthodontics.

Dr. Ragnell’s commitment to excellence is reflected in his memberships with esteemed organizations such as the American Dental Association®, Total Dental Administrators, the Alpha Omega International Dental Society, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Beyond his practice, Dr. Ragnell shares his knowledge as a lecturer and surgeon in live implant surgery demonstrations. He is passionate about continuous learning, ensuring that he brings the latest advancements in dental care and procedures to you.

With over 35 years of experience practicing dentistry in Plano, Texas, Dr. Ragnell’s focus extends beyond just your teeth; he’s dedicated to your overall health and comfort. Many of his patients have been with him for decades, a testament to the quality and care he provides. He strives to provide care that’s “worth more than what your insurance covers”.

Outside of the office, Dr. Ragnell’s life is full and vibrant. He and his wife, Mari, have been married since 1988 and are now empty nesters who love to cook, travel, and spend time with friends. Their Standard Poodle dogs, Sascha and Bodie, add to their joy. Dr. Ragnell is also an accomplished cook, a skilled handyman and do-it-yourselfer (having built his own award-winning airplane and remodeled his home!), and a talented furniture maker in his personal woodshop.

Mari is a registered dental hygienist and business partner who has been part of the iSmile Dental Care team since 1984. After completing the Tarrant County Dental Hygiene Program, Mari joined the practice and has since been an integral part of the dental community. She is known for her exceptional skills and knowledge in the field of dentistry and her dedication to providing the best possible care to her patients. Mari is part of a supportive team, and she thrives in an environment where everyone is working together towards a common goal! She is passionate about dentistry and takes pride in contributing to the practice’s success.

In her free time, Mari enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, son, daughter-in-law, two granddogs and two rescue dogs! She loves to read and is also an avid gardener. She enjoys traveling and exploring new places, and her needlework skills are impressive. Mari hopes her dedication to her profession and her hobbies comes through in her care for each patient.

Faith has been the Office Manager at iSmile since May 2024, bringing a decade of experience in the dental field. Originally from Paris, Texas, Faith began her career as a front desk receptionist and quickly advanced to managing multiple dental offices, including both corporate and private practices. She is passionate about helping patients navigate their financial options, ensuring they receive the best possible care. Faith values the close-knit, family-like environment at iSmile and enjoys working with Dr. Ragnell and his team. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her 13-year-old son, attending live music events, and comedy shows, and traveling. Her dental philosophy is: “It’s cheaper to keep your teeth than to replace them!”

With a compassionate approach and a commitment to patient care, Alondra plays a vital role in the dental office. As a dental assistant, she assists the dentist with treatments, ensures a clean and sterile working environment, and provides patients with information and support to make their visits as comfortable as possible. Born in Santa Ana, California, and raised in Dallas, Texas, Alondra’s appreciation for dental health began at a young age. Inspired by her positive experiences, she pursued a career in dental assisting and graduated from Sanford-Brown College in 2015. Alondra takes pride in helping patients overcome their fears and develop a positive outlook on dental care. Outside of work, Alondra enjoys reading, spending time with loved ones, exploring new destinations, and trying different cuisines. Her passion for dental assisting and her dedication to patient comfort make her an invaluable member of the dental team.
