Plano, TexasPorcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin shells that cover teeth to erase imperfections. If you’re not happy with your smile, let us revitalize your appearance and recharge your self-esteem with this completely custom dental solution. Dr. Ragnell in Plano, TX is a talented cosmetic dentist who designs and applies porcelain veneers to create beautiful, natural-looking smiles.

Are veneers right for me?

You may be a candidate for veneers if you have front teeth that are chipped, slightly crooked, misshapen, cracked, stained, or broken. Porcelain veneers can also close small gaps, so they’re like instant orthodontics. Dr. Ragnell will assess your smile and discuss your expectations to help you decide if porcelain veneers are right for you.

What are the benefits of veneers?

Porcelain veneers are durable and stain-resistant. They’ll match your existing smile’s color, and the porcelain reflects light like natural tooth enamel. Your veneers will look and feel completely natural.

How do I get started?

To begin, Dr. Ragnell will gently remove a very small layer of enamel from each tooth receiving a veneer. Then, we’ll take a mold of your teeth and fit you with temporaries. A skilled ceramist at a dental lab will handcraft your porcelain veneers according to our specifications.

When we receive your permanent veneers from the lab, we’ll remove the temporaries and affix your restorations. Dr. Ragnell will apply a bonding solution and use a specially calibrated light to securely apply your veneers. The result? A spectacular smile!

Dental veneers can help you and your smile by:

● Taking curved or bent teeth and correcting their image
● Taking permanently stained teeth and whitening them
● Repairing worn or chipped teeth
● Perfecting your smile

Porcelain Veneers Recommended

Although we offer resin veneers, we prefer to provide patients with porcelain veneers because they offer the most realistic and life-like appearance. Porcelain veneers mimic the aesthetic of natural teeth including the feel of enamel. Resin veneers do not mimic the feel of enamel or provie a natural look. We also recommend porcelain veneers because of their ease to take care of at home. Porcelain is stain resistant, which means that your new smile will stay whiter, brighter, and cleaner much longer. Porcelain is also friendlier to gums then resin is and for those patients with sensitive gums, porcelain will be the better choice.
